10 am - 2:30 pm – Brunch at The Maker's Son, 346 Bell St., Los Alamos
We'd love to see you Sunday morning for a casual brunch at The Maker's Son.
Each guest (who RSVPed "yes" to brunch) has been assigned a timeslot.
Please see your timeslot assignments here.
Your assigned timeslot is the time that you'll be seated so you can order your brunch. (The seatings are staggered so that we don't overwhelm the kitchen by all ordering at once.) That said, please feel free to come anytime after 10 am – it's a big space and you can hang out, drink mimosas and coffee, etc, while waiting for your seating! And feel free to stay till 2:30 pm regardless of what time you're seated.
[Dress code: Whatever you want!]
There are many lodging options in the Los Alamos area.
We have the following room blocks reserved:
"Echols & Nisnevich Wedding"
. Note that rooms in this block are running out quickly."Echols & Nisnevich Wedding"
."Echols & Nisnevich Wedding"
.Some other hotels we'd recommend include:
For a fun, kitschy themed stay, try The Victorian Mansion (right next door to our venue!)
There are also many Airbnbs in Los Alamos itself, and surrounding communities. This may be the most affordable and comfortable way to stay!
For the adventurous, there’s cabins and camping in Buellton at Flying Flags RV Resort and Campground.
The closest medium-sized airports are Santa Barbara (SBA) and San Luis Obispo (SBP). Each is a 45-60 min. drive from Los Alamos, on the 101.
The closest international airport is LAX, which is a 2-3 hour drive away, depending on traffic.
Santa Maria (SMX) is a small airport 15-20 min. away and has a few flights a day, to LAX, SFO, and Denver.
The Amtrak Coast Starlight serves all of coastal California and runs one train a day. The southbound train reaches San Luis Obispo at 11:57 AM, and the northbound train reaches Santa Barbara at 12:40 PM. Each of these stations is a 40-50 min drive from Los Alamos.
The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner runs 5 trains daily heading north from Southern California. Two trains a day go to Guadalupe, a 30 min. drive from Los Alamos. The remaining three trains stop at Santa Barbara with an Amtrak Thruway bus connection to Buellton, a 15 min. drive from Los Alamos.
Can't stand cars? You can get to Los Alamos on Friday, entirely via public transit!
From either Northern or Southern California, just drive down the 101 until you reach Los Alamos. Without traffic, it's about a 4 hour drive from the Bay Area or about a 2½ hour drive from Los Angeles.
Planning on driving from the Bay Area? Let us know if you're interested in carpooling with other guests!
We met in 2014 while living as roommates in a large house in Berkeley, CA. During the fall of 2014 our friendship blossomed (fueled by Dutch crunch bread and philosophical tea parties). Our first official “date” was on January 6th, 2015 (colloquially, "Borscht Night"). Since then, we’ve enjoyed sharing many adventures, international travels, backpacking trips, road trips, creative pursuits, remodeling projects, and lots and lots of laughter.
We are so excited to celebrate our love for each other with all those friends and family we love so much!
We appreciate you taking the time and effort to get to our wedding! We do not expect gifts, and are very blessed to have a small but beautiful home full of everything we need.
If you really feel inclined to gift us something, you can contribute to our post-wedding trip to Iceland in late June, via Honeyfund.
Alternatively, you can honor us by making a charitable contribution to one of these organizations in our name, in lieu of a gift:
What precautions are being taken for COVID-19?
Are children allowed?
Yes! Children of all ages are allowed at all events.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
There's no explicit dress code, but we expect most guests to be somewhere between cocktail casual and cocktail attire. Wear what you feel comfortable in and will inspire you to have a good time!
There's no dress code at all for the Friday and Sunday events. Wear whatever you want!
As far as weather goes, it will be a pretty hot weekend. Expect highs in the high-80s during the day, going down to the high-50s in the evening. The wedding will primarily be outdoors, so we suggest bringing layers.
What's the deal with the Friday meet & greet and Sunday brunch?
All guests are invited to the Friday meet & greet and the Sunday brunch. The Friday meet & greet will be a way to mingle and get to know each other before the wedding, and the Sunday brunch will be a way for us to say goodbye before we part ways. There's no requirement to attend either event, and we certainly understand that some folks' schedules won't permit it. We will ask for RSVPs for both events closer to the date so that we can get accurate head-counts.
Will there be a shuttle running to the wedding venue on Saturday?
There won't be a shuttle service for the wedding, as most guests are staying in Los Alamos itself, a cute and very walkable one-street town. If you're staying in Solvang, Buellton, or elsewhere, your main options are driving or carpool. Let us know if you want help arranging a carpool!
We can also recommend 805 Transportation (805-325-3787) as a reliable transportation option, and of course there's always Lyft, Uber, etc. Be safe!
